Almost every fresher makes the same mistake: they copy an experienced person's resume format, reach the "Work Experience" section, find it empty, and panic. Then they pad the page with a long career objective, a list of school marks, and hobbies like "reading and music."
That resume gets skipped. Not because the candidate is weak, but because the format buries the only evidence they have.

An experienced professional's resume is chronological — it leads with a work history because that history is the proof. You don't have that yet, so leading with an empty or thin section wastes your most valuable space: the top third of page one.
A fresher resume is skills-first. It answers "what can this person do?" before "where have they been?" This also matches how entry-level hiring has changed. Campus recruitment in India has been shifting away from bulk hiring towards more selective processes with multiple evaluation rounds and detailed project reviews, and employers increasingly weigh demonstrated skills over academic scores alone. Meanwhile large fresher drives can attract enormous application volumes, so a resume that makes its case in the first ten seconds simply survives longer than one that doesn't.

Most medium and large employers screen applications through an Applicant Tracking System before a human reads them. A beautiful two-column resume with icons and graphics can be parsed into nonsense and filtered out before anyone sees it.
For private-sector jobs in India, leave these off. They take up space and add nothing. For government, PSU and defence applications, the expected format is different — a photo, date of birth, father's name and a signed declaration are part of the standard biodata, and leaving them out looks incomplete.
Include your CGPA if it is around 7.0 (or 70%) and above. Below that, leave it out and let projects and certifications carry the resume. Do not list every semester's marks, and do not include 10th and 12th marks unless the employer specifically asks — one line each is enough for most roles.
Write a summary, not an objective. "Seeking a challenging role in a reputed organisation to utilise my skills" says nothing and appears on millions of resumes. A summary states what you bring. The exception, again, is government applications where a short career objective remains conventional.
